Electronics Packaging

Working with our chosen partner, we have more than 20 years experience in providing ESD protective electronics packaging. Thermoforming is efficient and very cost-effective for the production of many plastic parts depending on their size, shape, and quantity. Initial project costs are usually much lower, and lead times to tooling and production are generally much shorter than other processes. Temporary tooling offers an inexpensive short-term test for design issues and product market acceptance.

Custom thermoformed plastic packaging provides a more cost effective solution to protecting sensitive electronic components in computer parts, chips, hard drives and even mobile phones. Utilising our extensive knowledge of the inherent dangers of transportation of such components, Acupaq can work with you to develop custom, precision parts best suited for your projects requirements.

Our technology allows us to cover even-wall, deep draw, nestable plastic containers and automation trays for the following industries:

  • Disk drive industry
  • Semi-conductor industry
  • Consumer electronics industry
  • Computer and printer industry

Component Reel ProBand

Component Packaging
ProBand™ is a protective band made of carbon-loaded polystyrene designed to be wound around the diameter of standard size shipping reels of loaded carrier tape. The band covers the outermost wrap of carrier tape to provide added protection for packaged components. The bands are slightly wider than the carrier tape, preventing the flanges from crushing together during dry-pack or handling to protect packaged components from impact damages. Available in lengths to fit standard size shipping reels.

  • Available in EIA standard carrier tape width from 8mm to 88mm
  • Complete protection for devices when used with the LOKREEL® and LOKBAND®

Shelf Life and Storage
We recommend that PROBAND™ be used within 5 years from the date of manufacture. Store this product in its original packaging in a climate-controlled environment where temperature ranges from 21°C +/- 17°C (70°F +/- 30°F). Allow the product to stabilize at room temperature prior to use. The mechanical integrity of the product is not affected by humidity.
